How Usage Works
Usage is based on generation activity, not time spent in the app. Each generation you create counts toward your monthly allowance.Monthly Allowance vs Credits
Your subscription provides a monthly usage allowance based on your plan. This allowance is applied automatically as you generate content and resets at the start of each billing cycle. In addition to your monthly allowance, you may also have credits on your account. Credits can come from promotions (such as signup bonuses) or from credit packages that you purchase separately. Credits are not tied to a subscription plan and can be used with or without an active subscription. Credits are consumed after your monthly allowance is exhausted.Credits do not unlock features from higher subscription tiers. Feature access is determined by your active subscription plan, while credits are only used to pay for generation usage.
The credit counter in the app shows credits only (including purchased and promotional credits). Your monthly plan allowance is applied automatically and may not appear in the credit counter.
What Counts as Usage
The following activities consume your usage allowance:- Character images — Generating new character portraits
- Location images — Generating new location visuals
- First frames — Generating still images for shots
- Videos — Generating video clips from first frames
What Doesn’t Count as Usage
The following activities are free and don’t affect your usage:- Browsing — Viewing your projects, characters, locations, and shots
- Organizing — Creating projects, scenes, and structuring your workflow
- Preparing assets — Writing descriptions, adjusting settings, and planning shots
- Failed generations — If a generation fails (including content filter failures), it won’t count against your allowance
Only successful generations count toward your usage. You won’t be charged for failed attempts or system errors.
Subscription Plans
Each subscription includes a monthly generation allowance that scales with the plan. Higher tiers are designed to support more exploratory and long-form workflows.| Plan | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Microbudget | $10/month | Testing the platform and smaller projects |
| Independent | $25/month | Active projects with regular generation needs |
| Hollywood | $50/month | High-volume workflows and feature-length projects |
There is currently no unlimited plan. If you find yourself consistently reaching your usage limit, consider upgrading to a higher tier for additional allowance.
Upgrading Your Plan
You can upgrade your subscription at any time. Upgrades are prorated automatically—you’ll only be charged the difference for the remaining time in your billing cycle. Your upgraded plan takes effect immediately, and additional usage allowance is applied for the rest of the month. In some cases, this may result in a partial allowance increase depending on when you upgrade. To upgrade:- Visit your account settings or the subscriptions page
- Select your desired plan
- Confirm the upgrade
To avoid double-charging, both billing and usage allowances may be prorated when upgrading mid-cycle.
Example
If you start on the 25 plan partway through the month, you’ll only be charged the difference for the remaining time. Your usage allowance for that month will increase accordingly. At the start of your next billing cycle, your full $25 plan allowance will be applied.Downgrading Your Plan
Downgrades are not prorated and take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You’ll retain full access to your current plan’s features and allowance until then. To downgrade:- Visit your account settings or the subscriptions page
- Select a lower-tier plan
- Confirm the downgrade
Tips for Managing Usage
- Plan before you generate — Write detailed descriptions and prepare your assets before generating to get better results on the first try
- Use the right model — Choosing appropriate models (see Models guide) can help you achieve desired results with fewer regenerations
- Save successful generations — Once you create a character or location you like, save it and reuse it across scenes
- Apply aesthetics — Using consistent aesthetics helps maintain visual coherence, reducing the need for regeneration
- Use credits strategically — Credits are consumed only after your monthly allowance runs out, so they’re best used for overflow or experimentation beyond your plan’s allowance
